Exposed Aggregate Porch and Driveway

11 Mar, 2020 | Return|

This project was a fun one! This client was tired of their dated, unpractical porch. To extend the porch, we had to tear down the existing original structure and build a new foundation for the bigger porch. A foundation grade beam was poured below the frost line to ensure structural integrity for the porch and steps. By extending the porch to the corner of the house, we relocated the walkway to be centered with the front door of the house. This highlights the beautiful front door, while at the same time creating a sitting area on the porch.

The driveway was also in dire need of being redone. The exposed aggregate driveway compliments the home and the new front entrance. The most important part of a driveway is a properly compacted granular base along with steel reinforcement. In this job we used our minimum standard 10M Rebar spaced at 24" x 30" O.C. The rebar is raised to the middle of the slab while pouring the concrete to maximize its strength and ensure a long lasting product.

We take pride in our work, and enjoy the before and after transformations just as much as our clients do.
